Four Conferences – Six Days: Something I am really looking forward to is this year’s HOW conference, which will be held in my hometown of Chicago, Illinois in June. The entire event is split into four conferences aimed at designers, managers, freelance designers, and package design professionals. It will prove to be an exciting week for us as graphic designers because of the networking that will take place during this week, as well as the ability to learn so much more about our industry and how best to serve our customers – ensuring that we are on top of our game when it comes to relevancy in today’s competitive world. Good stuff!!

The recent events in Japan have undoubtedly stolen the top spot for news in 2011. Our prayers go out to the many citizens of Japan who have been affected by this immense disaster, as well as their family members who may be around the world – hoping that they may find peace and consolation in God during this difficult time.

Wow! We just finished digging out from what was hands down the biggest snowstorm in a while. Being from Chicago, what fell here in Ohio didn’t faze me much – although I’m certainly glad we didn’t really see what Chicago saw in terms of snowfall over the last two days! I’d much rather be on 127 than Lake Shore Drive!

Hope everyone is done digging out of the snow and getting ready to get things back to normal!

Windy and cold and snowy out – great day to stay in, throw the logs in the fireplace, whip up some hot cocoa, throw the slippers on and sit at my workstation to work on a website project! While the ambience is there, I may as well look for a Christmas music station somewhere on the internet.

Or I should continue to push for spring to hurry up and get here – maybe I will. I’ve had enough of the snow. Keep warm everyone!

Well, I hope that everyone got over the Thanksgiving holidays just fine and made it through the whole Black Friday events in one piece and got Cyber Monday over with whether it was from the comfort of your home or when the boss was not looking. So recently, I launched a new look to wiredapple.com; a more streamlined look that makes use of the whole screen as opposed to just the center. I did this to allow for future additions to my webpage which I hope to incorporate in the coming months as time allows. The portfolio page is also something of a temporary thing – as I look to have a more interactive portfolio, and I also expect to have more of my previous work on display there soon!
